The notification center

The bell tells you, inside Garage+, about what happens without you: for example a customer answering a quote from their phone. It is available to every member of the garage, with no setting to turn on.

On a computer, the bell is at the top right of the page, always visible, on every screen. On phones and tablets, it is on the right of the top bar. A badge shows the number of unread notifications; beyond 9, it shows 9+. The badge updates by itself, without reloading the page.

Click the bell to open the panel: it shows your 20 latest notifications, the most recent at the top. Unread notifications are in bold, with a dot.

  • Clicking a notification opens the job concerned if you are allowed to view jobs; otherwise (or when no job is linked) it is only marked as read. In every case, the click marks it as read.
  • Mark all as read clears all the badges at once.
  • The Esc key closes the panel; the bell and the notifications can be reached with the keyboard.

If the item concerned has been deleted since, the notification simply shows Document deleted.

A document notification is sent to the member who sent the signature request, as well as to the garage’s owners and administrators; the AI budget alert, to the members who have the View the garage’s AI usage permission (suspended members receive none). Everyone reads their own separately: marking a notification as read does not mark it for the others, and you never see a colleague’s.

For now, three kinds of notifications:

  • a document accepted online by the customer, for example “Jean Dupont accepted quote D-2026-0042 online”;
  • a document declined online by the customer;
  • the AI budget alert: “80% of this month’s AI budget is used”, at most once a month; clicking it opens the AI usage screen.

They will arrive with online approval of documents, coming soon. Other kinds will be added later.

A notification is kept for 90 days, then deleted automatically, read or not. It holds no customer information: their name and the document number are read when it is displayed, and disappear if the customer is anonymized or the document deleted.
