Run a stock count

A stock count compares what you actually count on the shelves with the recorded stock. The Stock counts tab of the Catalog lists past stock counts and the one in progress.

Choose New stock count, then the scope:

  • All tracked parts: beyond 2,000 parts, count by location;
  • One location: only the parts stored at that place;
  • A selection of parts: search for parts by reference, description or brand, add them one by one (2,000 at most), and remove some with their chip.

Only one stock count can be in progress at a time: finish or cancel it before opening another. Non-stock parts are not included.

For each line, enter the counted quantity: it is saved when you leave the field or press Enter. Several people can count at the same time, each on their own lines. A cleared line is not counted: it will not change the stock.

The difference (counted minus expected) is calculated at validation time, against the stock of the moment. The Moved since the count badge appears when a part was received or issued after being counted: recount it before validating.

  • Validate the stock count: each difference becomes an adjustment with the reason “Stock count” in the movement log. Parts not counted do not change. This is final.
  • Cancel the stock count: nothing is written to stock, the quantities entered are discarded.

All staff who can view stock see the stock counts. Opening, counting, validating and cancelling require the Adjust stock, run stock counts, enter or import initial stock, view stock value permission (the “Adjust stock” right).
